Happy New Year 2018!

Rarely am I ahead of the game in *trend*, except during the time I work at Notes & Queries! We operate within a fashion-forward industry and our fantastic publishers always seem to have their finger on the pulse of what is popular and new in greeting cards and paper.

And now – so will you! SAM074NQ Cockatoos Birthday Greeting Card

  1. Color of the Year: Ultra-Violet! Pantone announced last month that the color purple will REIGN in 2018, specifically the shade - Ultra Violet , a soft melding of blue and red. Pantone hopes the blue and red, the colors used to designate America's liberal and conservative politics, can become a more harmonious purple. Other Trending Colors: neutral tones, intense color combos, a palette made up of a complimentary blue and orange. Go Mets! ?, a combo of an earthy celery color and a berry infused purple color with eggshell blue, and an eclectic mix of colors balanced with black and orange.
  2. Fashion Trends: Sheer Tulle (e.g. “transparency” appears to be a consistent theme!),fantastic plastic, perfect parkas, and an updated trench coat. Clearly, I need to go shopping! ;)
  3. Retail Trends: Innovative Direct to Consumer Experience! Okay, what does that mean? As an VID097 Pansies Blank Greeting Cardindependent retailer, you have a super strong advantage over big box retailers! You are small enough to be flexible and you have already cultivated loyalty among your consumers! Use that to your advantage to continue to create a strong and exciting shopping experience. There is no question to me that the success of retail are with those stores who have created an *experience* for their consumers within their stores. This does require to get a head of the game and make sure you are working your social networks to get the “word out”on FB, Blog, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest. Make sure you are *bookmarked* with all your consumers.

Subtle Hint: one of the best ways to get ahead of the trend is to be sure to see the new Notes & Queries Sample Release as soon as possible! Of course, this hint isn’t too subtle, but we know you and your consumers will love it as much as we do!

Thank you so much for your business in 2017 and we look forward to a great 2018!

Vanessa
